I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
